Reviewing Vulnerability, Prevention, and Access to Care During Flu Season
As flu season coincides with autumn, it disproportionately impacts vulnerable populations, especially the elderly. This paper examines why seniors are at greater risk for flu-related complications, focusing on immunosenescence and chronic health conditions. Preventative measures, including high-dose vaccinations and lifestyle adjustments, are explored alongside flu symptoms and their potential complications, such as exacerbation of chronic diseases. Finally, our research team delves into the barriers seniors face in accessing healthcare during flu season, highlighting racial and geographic disparities and proposing targeted interventions. This analysis underscores the importance of a tailored approach to protecting senior health during flu season.
At All4Smiles, we believe that advocating for inclusive, accessible healthcare is vital to improving senior well-being. By understanding and addressing these barriers, we can create a healthcare environment where all seniors receive the care and support they deserve.
